Biography

Makoto Kubota fronted The Sunset Gang (Yuyaka Gakudan) and called their name Makoto Kubota & the Sunset Gang (???????????). In Japan, they recorded a series of albums during the mid 70s, from 1973’s ‘Machiboke’ to 1977’s ‘Dixie Fever’, incorporating a range of musical styles from blues to West Coast rock. When Makoto decided to wind up The Sunset Gang, he took many of the same musicians with him to form the Sunsetz, among the line-up innovative guitarist, Keni Inoue.
