Lorde (born Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor on born 7th November 1996) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter. Instead of singing about love and partying like most pop stars, Lorde focuses mostly on adolescence and fearing fame. She became a figure on the international scene with her initialThe Love Club EP , but didn't really start to blow up until her song Royals reached #1 on charts worldwide, including the US. Her fame-criticizing lyrics, sparse production, and age of 16 all combined to make her a polarizing figure in the media.
