Biography
Lauded by the music weeklies as a Scott Walker for the late-90s, with his chocolate chip vocals and sleazy tales of lacivious landladies and jobsworth public transport officials, Simon Warner in fact straddled the fag end of Britpop (he also smoked like a trooper on stage) with the emergence of the 21st century's acoustic troubadors. If Julian Cope had met Nick Cave at Bedford Esquires in 1979 they would've mutated into a symbiotic being like Simon Warner; or Gilbert and George with a crimping iron and string section.
