Geitungen
Biography
The folk music band Geitungen is a trio who plays tunes from their home area Rogaland, Norway. Their sound is simple, sweet and rough, deeply influenced by the style of Rogaland. The repertoire of both traditional and new written tunes variates between waltz, schottische, hopsar (the local polka), halling and springar (old Norwegian couple dances) which are the common tune types in Rogaland. Geitungen has by this day made two recordings: "Vaniljesaus" (2001) and "Bra kast!" (2005).
