One of Canada’s true music iconoclasts, John Southworth has always followed his own highly singular vision, often shaped by generally unheralded and peculiar pop and folk influences. His ever-shifting genre-transcending agenda makes him a chameleon song maker, who somehow manages to maintain a widely recognizable imprint on everything he does - Cabaret, 50’s-70’s AM-radio pop, old English balladry, American folk, music hall, children’s and novelty song, are some of the components that have made up his song arsenal.
