Laughing Hyenas United States

Biography

The Laughing Hyenas were a rock quartet formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA in 1985. Formed from the ashes of vocalist John Brannon's band Negative Approach and guitarist Larissa Strickland's band L-Seven (not L7), the band had the rawness of hardcore punk combined with the emotion and grittiness of the blues. They played with Kevin Strickland and Jim Kimball for seven years, until the latter two members departed to form Mule with PW Long. In 1992, ex-Necros drummer Todd Swalla joined the band in addition to Kevin Ries (a fan from Cleveland).
