Biography
Les Boukakes are a rock band from France, whose music is strongly influenced by North African raï. Formed in 1997 in Montpelier, the group's seven members hail from France, Corsica, Tunisia, and Algeria. Their name is a phonetic combination of the racist insults "bougnoule" and "macaque." In 2001, they released their first album Makach Mouchkil, followed by Bledi in 2004. Their new album Marra will be released on August 15 in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (other countries to follow). The band's official website Official MySpace page
