Mallard

Biography

1. Mallard, a 1970s experimental rock band featuring ex-members of Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band. In early 1974, after the recording of the Unconditionally Guaranteed album, Bill Harkleroad (Zoot Horn Rollo), Mark Boston (Rockette Morton) and Art Tripp III (Ed Marimba) (also formerly of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention) had finally had enough of working with Don Van Vliet (Captain Beefheart). So they left his Magic Band and formed Mallard, with Sam Galpin on vocals, John Rabbit Bundrick on keyboards and Barry Morgan on percussion.
