Biography

Formed in Recife (PE, Brazil) in the 70's, was the most important group to create a form of brazilian chamber music with folk roots. Tied to the Armorial Movement of Ariano Suassuna, that proposed a dialog between the folkloric medieval songs and the creative and interpretative pratices of the northeast of Brazil, the group was composed by a rabeca (rudimentar form of violin), pífano (a kind of flute), country guitar, guitar and zabumba (a percurssive instrument), as by violin, viola and flute.
