Squallor Italy

Biography

Squallor is a parodistic-demential band from Italy formed in 1974, consisting of narrator Alfredo Cerruti (a powerful A&R man also known for his relationship with Mina), singer/songwriter Antonio Savio (d. 2004) and songwriters Daniele Pace (d. 1985) and Giancarlo Bigazzi. With their 1973 debut album Troia they became an overnight sensation, improvising surreal stories over carefully-arranged orchestral pieces. The formula was repeated on their subsequent 13 albums (the most recent of which appeared in 1994)
