Taxi Girl France

Biography

Taxi Girl were a New Wave French rock band formed in 1978 and disbanded in 1986. The group still has a very strong fan base in France and the 1980 single Cherchez le garçon was a big hit in that country. They were influenced by 60s and 70s rock/proto-punk bands such as Bob Dylan and the Velvet Underground, as well as 70s and 80s new wave/post-punk influences such as Joy Division and Kraftwerk. The singer of the group, Daniel Darc, died in 2013 after making a solo carrier. The guitarist, Mirwaïs, produced the album Music for Madonna.
