Biography

The Hop-Frog Kollectiv out of Long Beach, California occupies an unusual (though not illogical) musical space in the realms of indigenous folk, techno, and world beat. Performing music inspired by both real and imagined Others, particularly those of the Middle East (the Hop-Frog logo is made to resemble the crescent moon of Islam, crossed by the collective's own logo), the collective reconciles Eastern timbres and composition with Western psychedelia and fantastic folklore.
