Biography
1 folk band formed in 1993 in Kaustinen, Finland. They have been praised for their ability to bring a contemporary feel to folk music. Their sound is influenced by both the classical string quartet and traditional ensemble techniques. Members Matti Mäkelä, Timo Alakotila and Antti Järvelä are regular players in the supergroup JPP, and primary composers Matti Mäkelä and Ville Ojanen are two of Kaustinen's most gifted writers. also JOHANNA JUHOLA plays with them.
