Biography
Ne?et Erta? (b. 1938-25 September 2012) was a singer of Turkish traditional music (Türk Halk Müzi?i Sanatç?s?), lyric writer, and a virtuoso of the traditional Turkish instrument ba?lama. Erta? was born in K?rt?llar, a village in K?r?ehir; his father, Muharrem Erta?, was a halk ?airi (literally "folk poet"), and Ne?et followed him into that profession. He interprets musical pieces of the Abdal tradition, following his father. Erta? left Turkey when he was just fifteen years old.
